What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is not a special kind of fat; it is just fat stored in a special way.  Just beneath your skin, fat is stored in vertical chambers.  As we get older with more toxins and poorer circulation, the walls of these chambers become rigid, losing their elasticity so they cannot stretch up and down to accommodate the fat within them.  Therefore as the fat increases, it pushes up through the surface of your skin, giving you lumps and bumps rather than a smooth layer.


What can I do about it?

You need two distinct actions from your cellulite cream.  It needs to help RE-ELASTICSE those chamber walls, the collagen and elastin scaffolding.  And it needs to INCREASE circulation, increasing the energy within your skin to help remove the toxins and shrink the fat cells themselves. How to boost results…

Our Mio massage technique helps your skin get the most out of Shrink To Fit.  Use 1-2 pumps per thigh and butt cheek – you need to be working hard to spread the rich cream.  Work upward from knees, or elbows to armpits. Use deep long vigorous strokes to massage in the cream at first and then try a little thigh rolling.  Starting at the inside of one knee, using both hands, get a good grip on a hunk of thigh and roll inwards and upwards, like you’re trying to move your skin and muscles to the other side. Make your way up your inner thigh and do three complete rolling movements inward/upward. Use alternate hands, as you grip the thigh, using a grab and release method. Repeat the same thigh rolling technique on your outer thigh, starting at your knee.

Skin brushing helps exfoliation, improves circulation, encouraging the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the skin keeping it firm, fresh and youthful. It is regenerative, toning, and it stimulates skin metabolism so your skin, the body’s largest organ, works to its very optimum capacity. Skin brushing also encourages the circulation of lymph fluid throughout the lymphatic system, to nourish the cells of your whole body’s tissues and eliminate cellular waste. Lymph nodes are found all over the body, with clusters in the neck, underarms, chest, abdomen, groin and knees. Remember the backs of your knees when brushing your thighs! Always brush in an upward direction, either on dry skin or wet skin before you towel dry.



Increase circulation and tone muscles

To help reduce wobble and lumpy thighs, it is hard to beat the good old-fashioned lunge.  Try taking giant strides, dropping your hips low, pushing up on your front heel to really engage your glutes (bum).  By increasing the muscle mass of your bum and backs of thighs, you will also help smooth out the orange peel.  Think Better Shape = Better Skin too.



Filling your body with the right superfoods can help improve and prevent cellulite and its orange-peel appearance. Avoiding processed foods helps keep your body ‘clean,’ and focusing on healthy foods that actually help your body detox can be just what you need to see smooth skin instead of ‘cottage cheese.’

  1. Eat your water: Is it a coincidence that fat, sugar and other bad-for-your-skin foods don’t contain any water? Water-rich foods like fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients—and valuable hydration that can plump up your skin, helping it look healthy and smooth. Ditch sugary, salty processed foods in favor of fresh fruits and veggies for fit skin.
  2. Citrus fruits: Grapefruit, lemons, oranges… Take your pick. Citrus fruits are high in vitamin C, which is essential for strengthening collagen (and preventing fat cells from poking through) from the inside.
  3. Avoid diet soda and cola there have been recent studies that suggest that diet drinks actually make cellulite worse. They are packed with unnatural ingredients and increase toxicity in your body.
